"The Alexa Mini LF has a slightly softer look than other cameras, which I like,” says DP Danny Cohen. "It meant we didn"t use diffusion filters at all, which helps at night as they can sometimes do weird things to highlights. The Panaspeeds worked well, as they cover the large-format sensor, they're fast lenses, and they have a bit of contrast, which I like as well."

LENSES

Panavision Panaspeed

Panavision Panaspeed

The Panaspeed lens series is a high speed, large-format companion to the Primo-L series of optics. Sharing many of the same traits – such as excellent veiling glare resistance, a blend of technical aberration correction, and the introduction of artistic nuances in the form of select aberration inclusion – the Panaspeeds also incorporate improved features including no blue line, better close focus, anti-breathing control, faster aperture, and greater field illumination. At T/1.4, these lenses are the fastest optics available for large-format cinematography. Panaspeeds are compatible with film and digital 35mm and full-frame cameras equipped with SP70 mounts.

Panavision 70 Zoom

Panavision 70 Zoom

Panavision offers a range of zoom lenses providing large-format coverage. The 28-80mm, 70-185mm, and 200-400mm zooms were built to match Primo 70 primes in terms of their mechanics and optical qualities, while the 150-600mm and 210-840mm focal lengths were designed as part of the System 65 lens series.
